Dear Editor
Dear Editor
I read with disbelieve the letter from James Bull, with regard to the Co-op in Olney. Has this man nothing better to do than turn out at 10.50pm for just one item, what a sad life he must live, he should realise that the staff do not get paid for the time spent cashing up after 11.00pm. Whatʼs stopping him from going earlier in the day, or is he just a grump who wants to make everyones life a misery. My advice to him would be go somewhere else that opens 24 hours, that way he could spend all night there.
In the last month there has been an increase in burglaries and attempted burglaries in Olney. These burglaries have taken place during the day and night, with the residents either being in bed or out of the house when it has taken place. These experienced criminals are taking out patio doors to enter houses and are leaving with car keys (and the car!) TVʼs, Laptops, Playstations and so on. Descriptions on Facebook indicate that the culprits are driving a white van, one man being of an Asian appearance and one white man with an unshaven look/appearance. Please watch out for suspicious behaviour and warn neighbours especially the vulnerable or elderly. If you do see anything suspicious take down the registration number of the vehicle and a description of the person and call the police. Emergency police Telephone number: 999

Dear Editor
In response to the letter regarding the parking problems on East Street BLAMED on ORFC... Why do you assume the four letter words and urinating is to do with that club? You mention the bowling, soccer and tennis clubs (letʼs not forget the cricket club and teens that frequent the fields) so why are you so ready to blame ORFC? Whatever your parking issues are with the club, you shouldnʼt really blame the club for these other issues.
Dear Editor
So very very many thanks to the Olney man who was driving slowly and saw me lying in the road on 17th November. Thank you for calling the ambulance and staying with me. Everything you did was greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Dear Editor
With this years Dickens of a Christmas fast approaching, I would like to thank everyone who bought candles from the stall outside our house, 81 High Street, Olney, at last years event. Thanks to your custom I was able to donate over £500 to the Lytham St Anneʼs Branch of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI). On the 9th December I shall be selling the candles again in aid of this very worthwhile charity and would welcome your support again.

Steps to prevent being burgled
Keep doors, windows and gates locked when possible.
Make sure your car has nothing of great value on display such as sat navs – have your car keys hidden well in your house or take them upstairs with you when you go to bed.
Close curtains and leave a light on when you are not in.
Do not publishes your ware-abouts on social networking sites, if your security settings are not securely set to private then a lot of people will know youʼre out. You may trust your friends but if your security settings havenʼt been set up correctly then your friendʼs friends can see your status. and their friendʼs friends can see that status too. Have motion senor lighting that go on as soon as anyone walks by as a deterrent. Install CCTV (fake or a real one) once again this will be a major deterrent for a burglar. To keep up to date with the crime statistics in your area visit www.police.uk,
Please remember Olney has a very low crime rate and with everyoneʼs help we can keep it that way.
