The club’s sixteenth annual Jaipur Charity Dinner was well attended at the Jaipur Restaurant on the 20th February, when around two hundred Rotarians and guests enjoyed a terrific evening of food, fellowship and quite a bit of alcohol.
In addition to the ticket sales, a raffle was held with the prizes donated by a variety of businesses based in Newport Pagnell, Olney and the Milton Keynes area.

Annual
plant and Gardens sale
The running total which the Newport Pagnell Rotary Club has raised over the sixteen year life of this dinner is in excess of £30,000. Thanks to all who have supported the event in any way.
The Newport Pagnell Rotary Club will be holding its annual Plant Sale on Saturday, May 19th, 2012. Yes, it still seems a long way off, but the warmer weather has arrived, and thoughts will turn to balmy days, picnics, barbecues and gardening. The sale will be held at the usual venue, the town Market Place car park at Olney; please put the date in your diary and come along to support this regular Rotary fund raising event. Start time will be around 9.00 am and the sale will finish at lunchtime.
Honorary Rotary member Abdul Ahad, owner of the restaurant, ably assisted by Hameet Singh and his staff supplied food of a quality and quantity which surpassed previous events. As well as being well attended by our own club members, the evening was also supported by a record number of the surrounding area’s Rotary Clubs. Representatives from the local Milton Keynes clubs, Ampthill, Bedford, Northampton Beckett, Flitwick
Rotary young musician of the year
The Newport Pagnell Rotary Club is an active dual gender organisation and welcomes applications from men and women. If you have time to spare and are interested in making a difference locally, nationally and internationally, get in touch and come along and meet the club and its members.You would be made very welcome.
The second Milton Keynes Young Musician of the Year competition took place on 22nd February 2012 in the Chrysalis Theatre, Camp Hill. Seven students from the Milton Keynes Music Service took part providing a large audience with some superbly played music. The event was supported by The Newport Pagnell Rotary Club and the other five local Milton Keynes clubs. A full house was wonderfully entertained and saw 17 year old pianist Hannah Slaving take the winners trophy with James Westlake playing the flute for second place. The adjudicators were Elizabeth Bancroft, Paul Fensom and John Witchell.
The Rotary Club of Newport Pagnell currently has 21 members and meets at The Swan Revived Hotel, Newport Pagnell every Wednesday evening.

During this week, Olney Baptist Church organised collections at
the Church, Olney Centre and a store collection at the Co-op supermarket on the Thursday. The store collection alone contributed over 600 items for the charity bringing the total collected from all three venues to approxiamtely 880 food items over the eight days.
A BIG thank you to all those shoppers on Thursday 15th March who supported the charity in this very practical way. A thank you also to the management and staff of the store for the help and cooperation you gave.
The Food Bank is a local charity that provide emergency food parcels to families and individuals who hit a short term crisis, filling the gap of days or sometimes weeks before the professional care services can come into play. In the last year there has been high demand on the help that the Food Bank can give people across Milton Keynes.
