It is not unusual at this time of year for street lights to stop working. I have received several complaints lately about lights not working – or, indeed, remaining lit all day. Milton Keynes Council repair street lights very quickly when they have been reported. The Orphean Singers, from hanslope, formed by a merger of the ladies and male voice choir in 1952, which was the year of Her Majesty’s accession to the throne, are hosting a series of four concerts in celebration of the Diamond Jubilee. ‘The Last Night of the Proms’ will take place on April 28 at Water Eaton Church Centre, 4pm; May 19th at St John the Baptist church, Hartwell, 7.30pm; June 2nd at St Mary’s Church, Haversham, 7.30pm; September 29 at St Mary and St Giles Church, Stony Stratford, 7.30pm.
The Mayor, Cllr Wendy Egan, invites residents of newport pagnell to the Annual Town Meeting to be held on the 19th April at The United Reform Church at 7.30pm. This is an opportunity for residents to find out what is happening in their town and to talk directly to councillors. It will also see the Town Award being presented to the citizen who has worked tirelessly for the good of the Town. Refreshments will be served.
