We were pleased to welcome back Izmael from MK Dons to launch this years Show Racism the Red Card competition. The children always enjoy meeting our friends form Dons and entering this competition with the important message that it contains. We have been very lucky with winners in the past so are keeping fingers crossed for this year!
Other visitors this week came from our local Fire Station and, much to the delight of our Lower School children who went to meet
them, brought along their fire engine. The children listened, enthralled, to the explanation of all the various pieces of equipment and watched as the firemen got into their kit. We said goodbye and thank you as they left with a short burst of very loud siren.
We have been very creative lately as we took part in this years Take One Picture event, which was Still life with drinking horn by Willem Kalf. It was a very complex picture but all the children found plenty to interest them
within it and produced some amazing work. We held an after school creative session for parents and children to work together in a variety of media, had a Big Draw event when our older children worked alongside our younger ones to share drawing expertise, held a still life drawing competition and had artistic parents in to demonstrate their skills. We are holding an open evening for our parents to come and view all our creative endeavours.
