Following last month’s letter about Instrument tuition, I would like to take the opportunity to point out that for Brass Players, all the local brass bands have development groups that offer free tuition for any one wishing to learn, regardless of age or experience. Some instruments are also available free of charge.
The bands; Bradwell Silver Band, Great Horwood Silver Band, Milton Keynes Brass, Olney Brass, Woburn Sands Band and Wolverton Town Band can all be contacted through their websites – easily found through Google, or through the various council directories available online and at the Library.

I just wanted to express my disgust over the recent theft that took place in Olney. My 11 year old son had his white and blue Trek Singletrack 810 mountain bike stolen from a very private spot in Olney Saturday 13 September. I am disabled myself and am not able to work and therefore on very limited income and had been saving for some time to re-build this bike fitting new wheels, derailleur and brakes. The bike was stolen from the rear of a private garden in the Weston Road area and the thief was seen riding away for which a full description has been provided to the Police. We are not able to replace this loss due to financial limitations and my son has been very upset. If anyone in your family in the Olney area has recently acquired a white and blue Trek mountain bike second-hand it is highly likely they are party to making an 11 year old boy very upset!
