Play Tennis this year!
Give tennis a go this year and enjoy the sport and its social side. You can just come and play with friends and other members or get the help of Nigel Willard, Olney’s Head Pro, who offers a complete programme from 3 year old to adults. The young ones start at mini red, service box tennis, before moving into full court tennis. Yellow ball tennis starts at 10 years of age.
Adults of any standard take note too - by taking a course each week you’ll soon be hooked by this fun and sociable sport that is good for fitness too. You can join the New to Tennis or the Rusty Racket groups and you’ll soon be hooked.

New court build
The court has been laid and the fencing up. With the lights finished off and the court lined, Olney’s players can now enjoy 4 great courts to play on. There will be a big opening ceremony in April once its summer paint coat has been applied.

the successful year then The Mayor of Olney, Rob from the LTA and Simon the Club Chairman presented the many awards (See photo of some of the winners and guests). The Juniors then tucked into a good meal ending a great night.

Team results
The A team drew their first 2 matches. First against Winslow on a dark, cold and wet night when Mike Macdonnell, Simon Barter, Eleanor Carter and Gill Hogston played. The second against Wolverton when Gavin Fowell, Chris Wright, Anne Foulkes and Katie Bennett.
The B team made it two wins out of two after beating Wolverton convincingly 6-2 thanks to Chris Wright, Simon Barter, Anne Foulkes and Sarah Wilkinson (See photo).
The D team followed their wins against Buckingham and Olney E with a hard fought draw against Wing. The C team also registered a good draw against Winslow.
American Tournament
The winter event was won by Les Folds and Ruth Ayling against Dave Hurley and Kay Gibbs. (See group photo).
