The First Run
Oil giant Shell celebrates New Year’s Day with a charity run from Aston Martin Works
Magic of Motoring (Shell oil’s Heritage Brand guardians) and classic Porsche Specialist Export 56 have teamed up to launch a new Years Day Event. throughout the day there will be a number of classic car displays which will include a charity run that will see 60 cars flagged off from aston Martin Works Service, newport Pagnell by the Mayor of Milton Keynes. Drivers and co-drivers, all in classic or ‘interesting’ cars, will navigate through the Buckinghamshire countryside to a check point at Porsche Experience centre at Silverstone circuit returning to the Export 56 Showrooms.
“the launch of ‘the first run’ event is very important to me and i will be donating any profit made from the event to the friends of the Walnuts.” said Mick Pacey, cEo, Magic of Motoring. “toby, my eldest son is in full time residential care at the Walnuts School and they do a wonderful job.”
Classics Cars and Scooters at The Revived
“My plan is to make this an annual event that grows in profile and i will be encouraging participants to dress in period. Prizes will be given for the best dressed car and team, i’m also pretty sure there will be at least two celebrity drivers,” said Mick Pacey. “We are also hosting a display of classic cars and scooters at the Swan revived Hotel and to close the day we will host a Murray Walker Pub Quiz for those who wish to exercise their brain.”

newport Pagnell has a significant motoring heritage that dates back some 200 years. in 1955 David Brown relocated aston Martin to the market town and one of the most charismatic car brands in the world who are still based on the original Salmon and Sons site in the centre of town.

the Walnuts School is a community residential special school for pupils with autistic spectrum disorders (aSDs) situated in a rural setting backing onto the north Bucks Way in Hazeley, Milton
Keynes. the majority of the children are from the Milton Keynes area. there are, at present, 131 pupils on roll aged 4 – 19, and most have a diagnosis of an autistic Spectrum Disorder (aSD).

9.00am gates open at aston Martin Works Service – newport Pagnell
9.15am competitors sign in
10.15am first car flagged off by the Mayor of Milton Keynes
11.15am check Point – Silverstone race circuit / Porsche Experience centre
12.15pm finish – cars arrive at Export 56 classic Porsche Showroom
1.15pm Drivers presented with Vintage gift bag 2.00pm awards and Murray Walker pub quiz
