Seymour. This is an extra responsibility for both of us but we continue with business as usual in the ward.
As second engagement we attended the Young Enterprise County Final and were thrilled to see two Ousedale School teams getting through to the judging that night, it was a great achievement for all those taking part and we were really impressed by the extremely high standard of the teams.
FOOD AND GARDEN WASTE SCHEME
For a number of years now many people have had green wheelie bins for garden waste. This was a service where people paid a small charge to have the bin emptied every other week. From this summer a new scheme is being introduced. This scheme will be free to everybody and the bins will be emptied on a weekly basis. The other major change is that food waste can be included in the bin for the first time. The scheme does not start immediately and you will be advised of the start date. For the Olney ward it will not start until September, Newport Pagnell is due to start on the week commencing the 6th of July. Please do not put food waste into your green bin until you have received notification that the scheme is starting as it can prove a health hazard at the recycling plant. Before
the scheme starts you will receive a leaflet through your door explaining it, with the start date and also detailing when your wheelie bin and Kitchen Caddy will be delivered. The objective of the scheme is to allow a significant amount of waste that is now land filled to be recycled, it will in future be used to generate energy.
ACCIDENT ON HARROLD ROAD, LAVENDON
Residents all around have been shocked and saddened by the accident that occurred on the Harrold Road in Lavendon involving a young four year old village resident. Happily he is making a good recovery but our heartfelt thoughts and best wishes are with him and his family as they get through these difficult weeks.
FINALLY we are very sad to report the loss of long time Weston Underwood resident Paul Bannister. Paul was the highly esteemed set designer of the BBC’s Question Time; his loss is an absolute tragedy and waste of a great talent. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time.
As always we will be holding our surgery on the first Friday of the month between 7:30 and 8:30pm at the Olney Centre, this month the 5th of June and next the 3rd of July. If we can help with any issue then please feel free to come along or contact us on the details below.
