Small School... BIG Achievements! News from Emberton School
What a lovely Easter we all had! The sun
shone (some of the time!) and the
children at Emberton School looked
magnificent in their beautiful Easter hats.
Rabbits, chicks, spring flowers and even a
few Easter eggs could be seen on our
traditional Easter bonnet parade around the
Bluebell Woods using various art media. The results are amazing and can be seen around our classrooms.
At the end of March we had a very exciting visit from the Fire Crew from Newport Pagnell. The children were able to see the

clubs who share the Olney Recreation Ground with us. Most encouraging of all was that we attracted a large number of non-bowlers who were eager to learn the ‘noble art’. Expert tuition from head coach, Alastair Fleming, and others soon converted apprehensive debutants into enthusiastic deliverers of bowling woods. The more their competence grew the more their enjoyment became manifest. We hope that means most, if not all novices decide to join the Club for more enjoyment.
This, of course, was not limited to our guests on Open Day. Anyone who would like to ‘have a go’ will be welcome as our newest members will verify.
Please do not be put off by the misinterpretation that bowling is an ‘old folks game’. Most of the internationals are young and they must have started at club level. Olney Bowling Club has recruited some younger members recently so you do not need a bus pass to qualify.
