Perhaps we in Olney cannot solve the food crisis but we can, and indeed are doing a little bit to help. Last month we sent out a carton of goods donated by local people. It contained sports equipment, first aid and medical equipment, calculators, mobile phones, spectacles, science books and books for junior schools. It is due to arrive in Freetown early September.
The Skills Training Centre
It is the rainy season In Sierra Leone at the
moment but work is continuing on the Training Centre. They are particularly keen now to build a security fence round the site so that a generator can be installed and tools etc purchased.
How can you help?
Funds are needed to send more cartons of donated goods for schools, sports clubs, the clinic etc. Each carton costs approx £150. Funds are also required for the Skills Centre. Please give generously by making a direct donation or joining the Friends of the Olney– Newton Link and thereby receiving our newsletter as well.
