Harvest Assembly at
Stoke Goldington First School
On Friday 5 October Stoke Goldington First School held its annual Harvest Assembly. The children celebrated Harvest by bringing gifts of food to be donated to the MK Food Bank. The audience of parents and relatives were entertained by some enthusiastic singing of Harvest songs and the acting out of the story of the ‘Enormous Turnip’ – which was eventually pulled up by many story characters! The children then shared some Harvest pictures with their audience – all watched over by an enormous model scarecrow they had made!
At the end of the Harvest Assembly the staff and children said their goodbyes to Reverend Murdoch who will be retiring shortly. Reverend Murdoch has been visiting the school weekly to lead prayers and share bible stories for many years now and the children said a big thank you for his contribution to school life by presenting him with a fruit cake and card – both made by the children themselves! q
