Phonebox Magazine October 2007
Editorial
Some might say Guy Fawkes didn’t do a good enough job; that aside we still celebrate the event every year with our fireworks displays. This year there are plenty of choices of venue to watch those rockets race towards the sky as the bonfires’ glow keeps us warm as the weather starts to veer autuminal.
Food was in a-plenty at a special senior citizens lunch sponsored by Olney Working Mens club on the 5th September, and our friend Ivor Neal received an accolade, not for his book writing skills this time, but for being the longest standing member of the club. Following the meal was dancing and a raffle. Well done to the Club for putting on the event.
Music has been on the agenda last month in abundance and we have plenty of pictures inside of a host of events. Inside Chris Dobbs of Truth Promotions puts a few words together and gives us a rundown on the local music scene. Our photographer was also at the Blues Brothers Tribute at the Bull on the same weekend. More pictures on our website at www.phoneboxmagazine.co.uk.
Clem Curtis played the Stables and I have heard he is booked into the Working Mens’ Club in Olney on Saturday 29th September – a few tickets are left so you have today and tomorrow to get a ticket!!
See you there. Ron Hall, Editor
