Congratulations from all at
Phonebox Magazine to the
Duchess of Cambridge on
the birth of her son, who’s
name I’m sure we will fifind
out before too long.
Congratulations also to Maddie Brasier, who has returned from her expedition to Antarctica, she tells us more about her trip to the land of ice and snow and the money she raised on page 71.
It’s not only the weather that’s hotting up around here, with three new venues, Olney has almost doubled it’s night-life potential. Our Foodie, always a supporter of a good local establishment, has done a run-down on some of the local pubs that have had the pleasure of a visit from us recently; well worth a read.... and of course a visit!
Also with English wine week this month (27th May to the 4th June), you have the perfect excuse to pop into your local and see what’s on offer.
To balance this intake of possible excess Phonebox welcomes new business, Vibe and Tone just off High Street South, in Olney. More on page 28. Gigs Galore could be the name of this issue of Phonebox Magazine this month, with a wealth of great events cropping up at the same time the weather has improved. Live and Local, page 20. There is some really interesting news from Paul Spires, boss of Aston Martin’s base at Newport Pagnell, regarding their building on Tickford Street. More about this on page 61. It is great news for Newport Pagnell and the area.
Ron Hall, Editor
PS: I was going to have a little flflutter on the gender of the baby, and I would have been quids in, but as Olney hasn’t got a bookies I missed out. C’est La vie!
