This month we have so much
on offer inside the magazine.
The letters page looks at
some of your concerns in
the area. We have The Buzz
and Grapevine giving you the very best of local entertainment, with a list of concerts and events, for you to attend.
February is a good time to really get organised about what you’re going to do in the garden. We bring you some great tips inside – and for anyone wanting to step it up a bit, I hear Olney allotments have a spare plot or two you could apply for.
This month we spoke to Eileen Wilmin in our regular Celebrating People article, Eileen was involved in youth football in Grendon for 20 years, read about how this came about on page 30, you may be surprised.
Half term is a lot closer than you might think, and the kids have to do something... so, to help you out, we’ve brought you a few ideas on page 50. February also brings us Pancake day and in Olney it’s a very special event, we have a full lineup of what is happening on page 49.
And if, by chance, you’ve never made a pancake, we have the classic recipe as well as some interesting variations for you to try on page 56. Although I do see the porridge and egg pancake, which in times of ‘resourcefulness’ I perfected many years ago, is not in there! After one of those you could certainly not run a marathon, which one Olney resident aims to do to raise £5,000 for the NSPCC, his story is on page 82 and I’m sure he’ll make it; as long as he doesn’t go anywhere near the porridge and egg pancake!
