Happy New Year to all our
readers, advertisers and
contributors, can I say what
a great job you all do; may it
carry on throughout 2018 which looks as if it’s going to be an interesting year.
Locally we have lots of new and interesting businesses starting up, which gives us all greater choice. This year, more than any previous years, local is very important, the High Street has got a great deal to offer; so keep using it.
The Coop must be congratulated for the effort they have put into raising funds for local causes in 2017; well done to the various managers of our local stores for organising all your fundraising and the staff who do such a great job. May it continue into 2018. Locally a lot of social media sites have been promoting a much friendlier view of our towns and villages than has happened previously. Let’s hope this ‘coming of age’ continues and, although we must not paint a rosy picture around everything, promoting the better side of life should not be forgotten.
If you take a look at this month’s events articles, ‘Buzz’ and ‘Grapevine’, you’ll nd plenty to do across Beds, Bucks and Northants.
Sometimes, though, things do take a little more time, so it’s pleasing to see a movement forward on the East West Rail link. A new rail line and superhighway linking MK to Oxford and Cambridge must surely be good for the area.
Someone who would by now have reached his destination is Ted, read his story “My Special Christmas Shoebox Journey” on page 30. I’m sure Ted is proving popular with his new friend.
Have a great month.
